Scripts is a project of social, participative and performative territorial intervention through open-source cartographical strategies.
It reinforces the potential of the processes that take place in the territory through strategies of performative nature. Based on Deleuzian’s concept of agency, we focus on the binary and rough lines as well as on the flexible and molecular ones that shape a lattice that goes through the ideas, bodies, actions and relationships. These lines fold metamorphic relations concerning territoriality where the vanishing points unfold the emergence of de-territorialization.
Thus, the territory becomes a dynamic axis, an open-source surface, where territorializing and de-territorializing movements articulate mutable universes.Through techniques of psychogeographical drifts and tools of graphic and narrative representation, these vanishing points -that go through the social relations, ideological practices, collective imaginaries, communicational dynamics, aesthetic dimensions, etc.- become visible.
We worked with texts that were produced during the drifts experiences. We selected those phrases that better articulated new ways of conceiving the territory and the relations that take place in it. These phrases were transposed to large neon signs that will be later located on the tops of the buildings. In this way; the urban signs, embedded in the architecture, build a spatial narrative through these phrases.
The resulting materials compose a dynamic repertoire whose visual support is the www. A data-base -that could dynamically evolve based on users’ inputs- gives shape to a vital memory of the intangible traces on the territory.
This project develops a critical point of view regarding the cartographical strategies and the definition of territories, that aims at focusing at individuals in their neighborhood context.
